As we continue to chat to artists who have been involved someway in Stickerbomb, we come around to Lary aka BANANA KRUGER who lives and works in Israel as a full time designer and animator.
When did you first develop an interest in illustration/the arts?
Like everyone else – during long and boring lessons at school.I started to draw in notebooks for grammar, history, and math. There were small funny comics about me and my friends.
What is the most difficult part of being an independent artist?
I don’t think I’m there. But from time to time I do freelance stuff, as wellI have income from a full-time job, I even do my personal projects and I really love what I do. Still, I can’t call myself an independent artist. Maybe calling myself an artist it’s the most difficult part 🙂 IDK
What do you enjoy working on and why?
I really love to solve the problems, not only “making it look good”. Also, I’m really enjoying artistic collaborations or simply when my clients are musicians or artists themselves.
How do you describe your style and where do you want to take your style?
Maybe a cartoon or alternative comics (style). They are great source for inspiration, but, I feel that there is so much more to explore and develop.
How has 2020 been for you (this is the annoying Covid question!)
More work at home, less time at the office. More quality time with my family.
Still, with all the positive things there is a pandemic and ppl are getting sick, also, I got tired of online meetings and miss a lot all of my friends.
